Strategic Acquisition and its Impact on the Acquired Company

Předkládaná práce se zabývá zhodnocením procesu strategické akvizice českého vodárenského podniku VHOS, a.s. velkou nadnárodní společností Aqualia v rámci jejího pronikání na trhy střední a východní Evropy. Práce analyzuje účel akvizice, strategii a oblast zájmu nabyvatele, zahrnuje fáze výběru společnosti, její přípravy na akvizici včetně due diligence a definuje podmínky její realizace. Výstupem práce je identifikace synergického efektu vyvolaného v případě uskutečnění akvizice a jejího dopadu na fungování akviziční jednotky, definování a návrh provedení nezbytných změn v managementu a organizační struktuře subjektu a návrh opatření a nových aktivit vedoucích k ekonomickým, technických a personálním úsporám a následnému úspěšnému fungování subjektu akvizice.
Implementation of palliative care in hospital setting

This thesis deals with the implementation of palliative care in hospitals and perceives the topic in context of change management in health facilities. In the Czech Republic, this type of care is still at its beginning in hospitals and its implementation is a big challenge. The aim of the thesis is to find out what factors influence the implementation of palliative care in hospitals. In the first part of the text, the theoretical bases concerning palliative care and change management are outlined. The empirical part introduces a qualitative survey identifying barriers that had to be overcome during the implementation of palliative care in hospitals and factors that were instrumental in the implementation. Within the survey, 66 interviews with members of multidisciplinary teams from 17 hospitals were made. All the hospitals participated in the Together until the end programme of the Avast Foundation. The assessment of the survey results focuses on recommendations for hospitals that decide to extend or launch the palliative attitude in their premises and on challenges for the future of palliative care in the Czech Republic. The thesis The principal's role in improving the quality of school involved in the project "We help schools towards success" focuses on roles of the school principal as a leader and manager, that influence the improvement of school quality. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on school quality, its indicators, management areas and evaluation criteria. It also brings theoretical knowledge about the school principal, his competence in his role of a leader and manager and about the project "We help school towards success" The practical part investigates which criteria parents considered while selecting a school for their children and what they understand by the term "quality school". It also analyzes what activities carried out by the school principal in his role of a leader and manager are in the eyes of teachers and parents the most important ones for the improvement of school quality and how the respondents assess the contribution of school involvement in the project "We help schools towards success". The main objective of the diploma thesis is to create a complex methodology for the change of business strategy when a company wants to internationalize which will be applicable and utilizable in SMEs. The principles of the theory of change management and project management will be used. The change management will be based on Lewin's Three-Stage Model of Change completed by the project management and risk management, and the situation analysis will help the identification of the company's position. A partial purpose of this thesis is to define conditions of internationalization for enterprises specified above which is closely connected with the change management of business strategy within the European Union. The last part of the thesis is focused on the application of the methodological proposal to a real company under real market conditions.

The main aim of the diploma thesis is to suggest a sophisticated methodology of change management while changing marketing strategy in a company. The result of this thesis is the consistent methodology that can be used by any company that desires to change their contemporary strategy. Managing change is based on Lewin’s model of change management in this work. The practical part will comprise two sections one of which will be devoted to the mentioned methodology of the strategy change management process and the latter to the application of the methodology to a particular company intending to change its current strategy.
